Distraction

Here are some recent photos to gander at. I'm trying to ignore the screaming baby in the other room. He's tired, and I've done all I can. So I'm distracting myself with cute pictures of him, knowing he doesn't always cry, he's a cute little booger, and I need a break! :)

This one was really funny, and we couldn't help but take a picture. He saw the eyes on Josh's shirt and was just staring at them. Probably because they wouldn't stop staring back :)

He got tired of me taking his picture, so I copied him instead of trying to get him to copy me.

One of my faves

Four generation McNeff!

Quinn likes his Great Grandma Nancy, and I think she likes him, too

M&M's and Baseball

We got a huge bag of peanut m&m's, and couldn't resist letting Quinn try one. He loved licking it. He got a little messy with Daddy's help, as you can see. It was really funny.

Last Monday was Evelyn's birthday, and she asked everyone to play a game of softball with her. So all the family got together and we played. There weren't really any teams, we just took turns at each of the positions. After my first time around the bases, and an asthma attack, I decided I was done with the running bit, and took up as catcher, and later just took a bunch of pictures. Brittany and Aliesha are a bit too pregnant to play, so Aliesha took care of Quinn for us so we could both play. It was a lot of fun. Especially when I remember how to throw and catch a ball again (the first time I threw it, I bowled it... it's been a while). Here are a few pictures of the family during the game.

Just a Bunch of Animals

Quinn is a month old tomorrow! Or has already reached his 4 week mark this last Thursday... Either way, my baby's growing up! Here's a few pictures of him recently. We had to use our phones because we still can't find our camera... :( I do still have my mission camera, but it's sorta broken and I can't change it from night vision or to any other options.

Also, we went to the zoo on Thursday with my family. It was a lot of fun! It was rather hot, and I was reminded how easy it is for me to get a migraine in the heat. But Quinn slept most of the time, minus a couple times I fed him while we were there. The last time we thought we had found a secluded bench, to find out a few minutes later as I was feeding him that the little train goes right by where we were sitting. I couldn't understand her, but I'm sure the tour guide said, "And on your left is a display of how the homosapiens feed their young."

Here's our little man compared to an infant gorilla. They don't look too different to me.

Danny and Laurie got to ride the carousel at the zoo. (Which, by the way, is a new attraction for me to see there. So many things have changed since I was last there!) Danny was holding on for dear life, and Laurie, as always, was the opposite: just having a blast, and even posing for me.

Birthday Bash

First off, I want to congratulate all you who remembered Josh's birthday this year! Even if someone had to remind you, it was a nice surprise for him to get calls and texts and such wishing him a happy birthday. I had kinda spread his birthday out all month because we didn't know when Quinn was going to come. So he got his presents over a few weeks. But he got a nice birthday dinner and homemade cake on his birthday. It was really tricky trying to make it with Quinn needing me so much... I got about half of it done by the time Josh got home. So I passed the baby off and finished. FYI, never mix frosting with pudding: it makes it way too runny. FYII, put it in the fridge if you do so that 1) it doesn't run all over, and 2) it doesn't mold within 2 days of summer heat. Quinn was able to give his daddy a present, too, since he came early enough. The card had his footprints on the front, and he gave his daddy a much-coveted computer game that mommy had refused to buy for him. Then this last weekend, we went up to my parent's house and had a really good steak dinner, and cake and icecream for Josh's, baby Quinn's (as Laurie told me), her 4th birthday. It was a lot of fun. My family has a tradition of hiding the presents around the living room, and making the birthday person find them to open them. They had one for Josh to find as well. It was pretty funny to watch him roam around, trying to see where they put it. And a plus side to this adventure, we got to take a couple steaks home :D Josh misses meat and being full :)

2 weeks

We went to the doctor yesterday for his 2 week check up. He is now 8 lbs and is 21 1/4 inches long. He's growing up already... :( I can tell when I hold him, and especially when I feed him, that he's growing and that he's not the same baby he was when I held him in the hospital... sad day... but he's doing really well! My baby is now a little man, he was circumcised yesterday, too. He was screaming bloody murder, and even swore at the doctor at one point (that was pretty funny). We lost our camera, or else we'd have a lot more pictures. We'll find it and take more. In the mean time, you'll just have to see him in person :)
