Baby Projects

So I'm 37 weeks along now, and very puffy. I was put on bed rest last week because of how swollen I get so easily (I look and feel like the Pillsbury Dough Boy), and we want to prevent having to go into labor too early from Preeclampsia. Fun stuff, eh? So my projects for my baby have pretty come to an end, since I can't even just sit at the table to sew or anything, and there's only so much I can crochet. So here are a few of the things I've been working on the past couple of months for my baby boy:

This sits on the wall above Quinn's crib. I painted it out of wood blocks. I love it!

He has a bunch of blankets, since that's what my family seems to do best. But these are the ones I made. The teddy bear one with the silky blue border is my favorite. it's so soft!

His window needed a curtain, so I went and picked out this fabric. I wanted to wait a little bit to find out just how sportsy he's going to be before I make curtains that show he's growing up yet. But I promised Josh I would change the curtains as he gets older. It'll be fun, and it's not hard at all.

This is one of my favorite things to sing to him, even though he's not born yet. So I made this one day, and hung it above his crib on the other wall. Because he's my little sunshine!

BEFORE
My great-grandma (Grandma Ottley) basically claimed this chair whenever she was at my Grandma Chris' house. I grew up calling it Grandma Ottley's chair. She died when I was little at 105 years old. I was rocked in this chair, and it means a lot to me. But it's been through a lot, needed to be reupholstered, the wood fixed inside, and should be refinished, but we weren't allowed to because of the history it shows.

AFTER
Doesn't it look pretty? Josh and I had a lot of fun fixing it up this past week or two. The bottom no longer sinks in, the top of the back doesn't move back and forth (it was broken), the fabric was filthy and falling apart at the seams... But not no more!!! Now I can rock my baby Quinn to sleep at night. I'm excited. Both Josh and I like to just sit in it.
