Photo Shoot and Snow

Quinn finally fits into his 6-9 month clothes! And every time I get a new box out, it's like Christmas all over again, and I get all excited, wishing Quinn had more patience with me wanting to try all the new cute outfits on... So I found this cute denim outfit today and put him in it, and then decided to take tons of pictures. It was hard getting him to smile for me, and the sheets I used for the backdrop made his face all funny colors (thus why they are all sepia or black and white, because they look SO much cuter that way). Enjoy looking at my stinkin' cute baby!

I couldn't decide which I liked better...

I finally called Josh in to help me get Quinn to smile. And he did, but each time he'd dive into the bed to smile... such a goober!

Then with all the snow, and it being good packing snow, not just powder, we decided to take Quinn out to meet his new, wet, and cold friend:

And build a snowman, of course! We enlisted Shelby, our neighbor girl, to help. Then she and Josh started a snowball fight... Josh is such a kid sometimes still :)

Merry First Christmas, Quinn!

We had a great Christmas this year! And with it being Quinn's first one, it was that much extra special! We decided we'd get up when Quinn did (he usually wakes up for a little bit around 7:30), but when I got up with Quinn, I found Josh wide awake, and had been since 6:30! He's going to be worse than the kids... I was tired still, but we still got up and did Christmas. Then when Quinn finally got tired of being awake for so long so early, I made the traditional blueberry muffins and orange juice and then went back to bed for a bit.

We were very blessed this year due to the kindness of family, friends, and neighbors (and killer deals online) :) Quinn got 26 DVD's (Baby Einstein), an O Ball (in one of the pics below, it is shaped like a football, but has little holes in it so he can grab it easier), and a book called "Daddy and Me." Daddy got a remote controlled helicopter, 2 playstation games, a new apron (yes McNeffs, you're getting Bird Brain back now), and a Viper! (matchbox size). Mommy got a new purse, a straightener, earrings, and Robert Jordan/Brandon Sanderson's new book. Then we got a 10 in one game set (has Chess, Chinese Checkers, Snakes and Ladders, Parchisi, etc), and Dominoes so Josh and I can finally play games just the two of us. Then we got a tent from the McNeffs, two CD's and a ton of gum from the Christensens (Sugarland and Lady Antebellum). It was a wonderful Christmas!

Quinn loved looking at the lights from under the tree

Here he is, getting his stocking, trying to figure out what in the heck is going on

Christmas Eve was spent playing games with the McNeffs. Here we are playing Castle Risk. My country had already been taken over by Matt, so I was out of the game. Grandma Nancy was trying to learn all the rules and keep up with everyone. Dan, as always, was going for victory (he hates losing)

Gabe posed for me, and I couldn't get Reed to look at me. He was way too into setting up those cones and jumping over them.

Christmas Day was spent with the Christensens (after my nap, of course). They gave him some keys, which he just loves!

It's Almost Here!!!

First off, I want to give a very, very, very warm thank you to all of you who helped us out this year, especially this Christmas season! We feel spoiled, and are extremely grateful! If you don't understand just how much we appreciate you, I have almost come to tears a couple times today because of the kindness of neighbors and friends. Thank you!! From me, Josh, and Quinn!

Yeah, so I'm really excited for Christmas this year. I've been waiting for what seems FOR-EV-VER for it to come! I've been done with our shopping for a couple weeks now, and we've gone to a few parties, it has snowed (though it's melting now), and I'm ready for it to be here already!

Quinn is wanting to be a big boy so badly! He sees whatever Josh and I are doing, and wants to do it, too. At the table, he has to be on my lap and try to eat my food. He licks the gallon of milk to try and be like mommy (I have a bad habit of drinking straight from the jug). And when Daddy plays playstation, he wants to play, too. Josh tried to move the controller away, and Quinn just dove for it.

This is my mini nativity set my family sent me for Christmas on my mission. It was our only nativity set last year, and we were okay with that since we really didn't have anything to set anything larger on anyway. (Ruler added so you can see just how small it is)

But this year, we got a new one from Allen's (we shopped around a lot finding one we liked, and in our meager budget). Isn't it cute?
As I mentioned above, we've gone to a lot of parties lately - three nights in a row, actually. Thursday night we went to an Elder's Quorum party which was a lot of fun. Friday we went to the Latin Christmas party for the ward we've been helping out with (it's not even in our stake, but Josh worked with a couple of the guys, and they mentioned they didn't have a piano player for their ward choir, so we went every Wednesday night to play for them. It was a lot of fun. We really enjoyed them, especially Quinn - and they love Quinn, too). Here is his teddy bear at that party wearing Quinn's tie after he got tired of wearing it.

Then Saturday we drove down to Gunnison for my Granny's party. It was the first time Josh got to meet the extended family, so it was a lot of fun. This is a pic of my uncle Jody who lives with his family in Texas, and we haven't seen since before my mission. His daughter Hailey is the one hiding her face with the ribbons in her hair.
And this is Chy and her mom Karen (ha! Caught you!)

And this is a good idea of how Quinn felt each night, staying 3 hours up past his bedtime, just wanting to go home and to bed. Needless to say, we slept a lot on Sunday, recuperating.

My Big Boy!

Daddy was having fun with our new camera. And Quinn is just so cute, I love looking at pictures of him. So here is my big boy, five months old, standing up in his crib, and everything!

Lots of Fun!

Quinn saying happy birthday:

I need to preface this video. It's from my phone, because I was sending it to my dad for his birthday. And it turned out so stinkin cute! I was going to use it for everyone's birthdays, since there are to many right now, but when I sent it to my sister, she felt gypped and wanted her own. So I'm just sharing this one with everyone!

This was in nursery. Quinn wanted to play with the toys like the other kids so badly! So we let him :)

Ain't he cute!?

Sunday on our way to church. Look at all the snow we got overnight! Josh loved it! Thus why we walked the block to church, instead of driving (mind you, I don't have boots yet...)

These were all taken when Josh and Quinn were playing on the floor. Quinn was laughing to hard! And Daddy just kept tickling him!

Our beautiful Christmas tree! With presents already under it and everything!
