Family Bike Ride

Since the weather FINALLY decided to be nice to us, we decided to break out our new bikes (well, Josh's is new, mine is just my old one spiffed up) and go for a ride. It took us a while to get started, since we had to put together Quinn's new ride first. But once we got that together, us all dressed up, Quinn's helmet on (man, does he HATE that thing! He threw a temper tantrum each time I tried to get it on), we took off.

Since it was my first time out in years, we wanted to just do a short ride. So we went to Cherry Hill Park, got Quinn out and played for a while, then came back home to put him down for a nap.

Here are lots of fun pictures and videos of our outing:

Helping Daddy put his bike seat together (he kept mimicking Josh, wanting to use the same tools, put his hands in the same place, do the same thing... it was so cute! I would have more pictures, but the camera died and I had to recharge it before I could take anymore)

Testing out his seat in the house while we searched for his jacket and shoes

Quinn and Daddy ready to go!

Poor kid has to have Daddy's bum in front of him the whole time. But Quinn just used it to lean against while he watched the ground fly by

Quinn has never been to a park before (well, he has, but he was too little to get out of the stroller and do anything. So technically, this is the first time he's ever played in a park before). So Quinn had a lot of firsts today. It took him a little while to warm up to things, but he eventually decided to have fun. We're excited for the rest of this season and the summer as he continues to get older, more mobile, walking, etc so he can enjoy it even more!

Sliding down his very first slide ever!

Next was the swing. He didn't know what to do... so he just held on and humored us

And the last new thing to try out was his favorite, probably because it involved something he is now a pro at: crawling!

The little booger wouldn't come to me all the way. He found something poking up through the bottom and kept getting distracted...

Putting Quinn Down

Putting Quinn down for a nap has always been a fun adventure. But lately, it's gotten pretty easy (knock on wood). With this new place of ours, things are more insulated than our last place, making it quieter from room to room. Therefore, we are able to put Quinn down, keep from waking him up, or even better, when things get too bad, we can ignore his crying until he just falls asleep. So he's gotten used to falling asleep within 10 minutes of me putting him in his crib. It's SO NICE!

So here's how we lovingly put him to bed now:

First, we eat dinner. This is Josh and his brother-in-law, Gjanden, cooking dinner for us. Josh has been spoiled and hasn't made dinner since Quinn was born. So as you can see, they are both not quite sure what to do in the kitchen. But they made great fajitas, and I decided Josh is going to get more practice cooking again :) (I love you sweety! This is not a punishment, I swear!)

Then, we give Quinn a bottle after changing his diaper and putting him pajamas. Lately, this has been around 8:30-9:00 PM. In conjunction with this, we usually watch one of his calmer Baby Einstein videos, like Lullaby Time or Mozart. These particular pictures were taken when our friends Eric and Amanda were over. Quinn was on my lap, but I guess he wanted a better view of his movie, so he slid down like he was going to get off my lap (a new trick of his). However, halfway down, he stopped, and stay there. Funny little kid.

Lastly, Josh or I will put him in bed, tell him we love him, kiss him goodnight, and shut the door. Then we retreat downstairs, paying attention to the monitor to see if he's going down or not. After a few minutes of screaming like we're the worst parents on earth, he suddenly stops. One time, I went up to give him his binky, just to find out he found it himself. He had his binky in, was laying on his tummy like a good boy, has his eyes closed, and was breathing heavily. I love this kid!

Thin Mints!

(Quick disclaimer: I have just added a ton of new posts, because I just had too many topics to cover with the pictures we've taken recently. So make sure you look at the menu on the side and catch all the new ones)

I come home from shopping today to find out that my little boy loves Thin Mints. Daddy had been feeding them to him. As soon as Quinn finished one, he would lean forward and reach for the next one. I had a hard time the rest of the night getting him to stay away from the sugar. And it starts...

Little Stinker

While getting ready for the party we were throwing that night (like, putting away everything and hanging up pictures), I put on a video for Quinn to keep him occupied so I could help Josh get the work done. I knew that if I put the computer on the floor, he'd be at it, pushing buttons within seconds. So I thought I was smart when putting it up on a crate, thinking he wouldn't be able to reach it....

St. Patty's Day

We had a St. Patrick's Day / House Warming Party. Josh really missed the parties his family used to throw when he was younger. So since we have a big enough place now, we decided to throw a party. It was a hit! A lot of people showed up, and we had a lot of fun. Here's some pics from the evening:

He loves his hat :)

Bike!

Since he was 12 years old, after he went on a 50-mile bicycle ride, Josh vowed he would never sit on a bike again. He HATED it! I was sad when I first heard this just after we got married, because we were in Logan, and I would have loved riding around that charming town (man, I miss it!). However, now that we live in Orem, and are trying to cut down on car miles, I've talked Josh into getting a bike to go to school, and possibly work depending on where he gets a job. All it took was a comfy bike seat :) We fixed up my old bike, even spray-painted it so it wasn't pink anymore (for some reason he didn't want a pink bike). Here he is, strutting his stuff. Notice the big smile on his face - he is loving it!

Water, Water, Everywhere!

We just added 4 new members to our family: Angel, Pongo, Goldbug, and Captain Jack Sparrow (Jack, for short). Needless to say, Quinn is thrilled! He has loved our trips to the pet stores, looking at all the little creatures. He especially loves lizards. But we got him fish. In a bit, we'll also get a catfish, and 3 neon-colored tetras.

The leak... still has to be fixed. It keeps stopping and starting again. Right now, it's dry, and has been for two days - no tell why. It befuddles me.

This was the first time we filled it up. The second time the drips started, it filled the bucket up this much in just a couple hours. The first time it too 2 days to get this far.

Temporary Update

Well, we're officially moved into our new home! It's awesome! Josh loves saying that we have an upstairs and a downstairs. I love all the room we now have. And Quinn also enjoys all the room he can move around in, as well as all the boxes and things still out that he can play with. I want to get you guys pictures, and maybe a video or two, but I have to find my camera and finish setting up the house first. We've gotten a lot done, but we have been so tired, and getting caught up on schoolwork, etc. But keep checking back. Probably by the end of this week I'll have a tour for you!
