We were given a turkey for Christmas, but haven't had a chance to cook it yet - until yesterday. I have done a lot of Thanksgivings, but the turkey has always been done by someone else... so I've never done it myself. I was a little scared of cooking a whole turkey by myself, having never done so before. But it turned out so good!! Quinn likes to go, "mmm" with every bite he takes. Well, I think he gets it from his daddy, because Josh was saying, "mmm!" with every bite of turkey last night. :) It was moist, fell right off the bone, and tasted so yummy! Here are some pictures from my scrumptious dinner I made last night (I was so tired by the end of the day... I had been going all day long, and now I'm sick... grr...).

Squeals!
Oh my goodness, my boy squeals all the time now! Yesterday, we went out to dinner and a movie with my parents for their 26th anniversary. While at Chili's, my dad gave Quinn a french fry. When Quinn ate it down to his hand where he was holding it and couldn't get anymore, he squealed really loudly until we helped him fix it, or gave him another one. It wasn't an upset sort of a squeal... more just, "Hey! Help me out here!" Then during the movie, he felt like he had to be as loud as the movie was... I'm glad there were only 6 other people there besides us. But I'm sure once he does it at the McNeff's, Dan will have a hard time sitting next to him lol. Here's a little video of him just squealing for fun. He makes me laugh... :)
(Those of you viewing this on my facebook page, you can't see the videos, so you need to go to my blog to see it http://themcneffs.blogspot.com/ )
Also for my parents' anniversary, I went up last Friday to help them get curtains for the front room and put them up. It's been YEARS since they've had decent window-blockage in that room. All they've had has been these straw-like blinds that you could see right through (which isn't very nice for guests who sleepover on their hide-a-bed). I took my mom with me to pick out the fabric and such, or else I'd probably have chosen something different. But here are the results. I've heard reports that the front room is a lot warmer now (much to my sister's liking), and the room is starting to look more like an official room. I sewed the top valance part, and put on the fancy fringe, and everything. The curtains themselves were on clearance, and are faux suede- really nice!
Josh caught me sleeping with another man, and decided to take pictures as evidence (as he wanted me to put it). Sundays are really difficult now that we have church from 1:00-4:00 pm. That's right when Quinn needs to be taking a nap. So as soon as we got home this last Sunday, I laid down with Quinn (the only way I could assure he'd go to sleep quickly) so that we could make it to Orem in time for dinner, and he'd still get his nap. Josh snapped a few pictures. I'm not too lovely, but Quinn is stinkin' cute how he ended up sleeping with me.

Six Months and Loving It!
My little boy is six months old today! So crazy to think how time has gone by so quickly, and yet so much has happened! Quinn can now sit up by himself, loves to eat anything he can get his hands on, literally, loves to play with Mommy and Daddy (though Daddy is the more fun one, of course), jibber-jabbers all the time, and is just a happy little boy! (I don't know weight or height yet because his appointment isn't until next week, but I'll be sure to let everyone know!) And since I like any excuse to celebrate with food, or make a cake, or anything sweet for that matter, I made a cake in honor of Quinn's half-birthday today. He got a little bit, but not much, because he had already eaten a ton of dinner (carrots and rice with cinnamon, with applejuice to wash it all down) and it was almost bedtime. But he enjoyed it, as you can see :)
Obviously, Quinn knew that this cake was his and reached for it as soon as it came close enough. I loved it!

Since Quinn was about a month old, I've been having him shower with me whenever he needs a bath, because it's just easier, and I actually get a shower that way. So he's never really had a bath... and I had already showered one day, so we decided to let him try out the water. He was very unsure at first, and just kept looking at his toes wiggling, and tried to figure out what was happening. Then toward the end, he decided it was okay, and started splashing me like crazy! He was kinda mad when I got him out to get dressed :) (and for those out there who are concerned about such things, I have "censured" the pictures we took)

FOUL!!
Quinn and I went to watch Josh referee last night. It was a lot of fun to see my man be all authoritative and all that fun stuff. Quinn had a lot of fun, too. I think we have another sport fan in our family. He was yelling and cheering along with everyone else :)
And today I was feeding him, and realized I hadn't gotten too many pics of his new favorite thing: big people food! He gets so mad at us if he can't join us at the table and eat with us.
Here he is feeding himself. He always tries to help us anyway, so this time I handed him the spoon to see what he would do
